Let’s face it we would all love to travel year around without a care in the world. There are people out there living the dream. However, I am not one of them. I have responsibilities at home and to my family. In this case, I have a job and kids to feed. Also, I live for budgeting. Money doesn’t grow on trees and I have to work and save like most people do. How do I get over my travel blues?
There comes a point in every traveler’s journey to take a break from traveling. What do travel bloggers do while they are not traveling but they need to continue to blog?
I plan on new adventures. Book upcoming trip. Normally this happens around winter time before the holidays leading up to the new year. This year was a little different. I got a late start. Planning upcoming trips can be a great way to pass the time while waiting. Have a calendar handy to mark down the days til the vacation.
Can’t travel without money. Like planning, saving money for upcoming trips is a MUST!! This allows for any mishaps and changes to travel plans. Although saving money can be a challenge. It can be a great award once a goal is reached.
While my family and I are not off sailing the seven seas and riding camels in Egypt. We are still doing something. We stay local. There are so many things we find here in our lovely state of Louisiana. From fishing to hiking in one of many state parks. There is always an adventure just around the corner. Then there are weekends when we take an hour trip to the beach. These mini-vacations are great getaways while waiting for big summer vacations.
As a travel blogger, I need to be able to keep my audience engaged. One way of doing this is allowing guest bloggers to post and fill in the gap where your writing might be absent.
Revamp Old Post:
Going back to old content can get those creative juices flowing. Revamping old content can also save time and help you get over the travel blues while waiting for the next adventure.
Don’t share everything all at once. Blogs just don’t fall out of the sky ready to go. Saving post for future dates allows for rainy days.
Catch Up on Reading:
Read other travel blogs and get ideas for an upcoming post. Also, catch up on travel books and see if this gets the gears turning to a new adventure.
Vacations allow people to relax and unwind. However, planning a trip can become stressful and the post-travel is depressing. To relieve the stress of planning or the post-travel blues. Relax…. Rome was not built-in three days. Take the time to unwind. Give yourself a home-stay vacation. There is nothing wrong with being at home and enjoying.
Don’t let the travel blues get you this year. Stay focus and remember the goal is to get out there and travel. Even if that is once a year.
